I show up for myself and I am here for you too! We are on this journey together – as a collective – we grow and learn from one another.

I was born and raised in Bulgaria. I was always a curious child, which led me to experimenting with various drugs in my teen years; I loved to experience an altered reality. It was my mother who took me to my first yoga class, hoping it would help me break my bad habits.

Yoga is so powerful that it forced me to learn how to walk my path.

Today, I still enjoy being in an altered state of consciousness. I understand now, however, that I can reach that state without the use of drugs by using meditation. Most importantly, I have learned that the altered state of consciousness itself isn’t the ultimate goal, but just a temporary manifestation. The goal of all yogic practice is “to discover and experience the universal spirit within”.

If it weren’t for my teenage curiosity that led me to drug use, I wouldn’t know what I now know. “The more you know, the more you don’t know,” Aristotle once said.

Eventually, my path led me across the ocean to the Bay Area of California, through the desert into the Rockies in Colorado, and back across the ocean to the Hawaiian Islands. Today, I live in the beautiful small town of Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii

I am blessed to have the most supportive and caring husband, Willem, who is a chef from Bloemfontein, South Africa, and one year ago my gorgeous son Aiden was born to gift me the most fulfilling identity – the one of a mother.

Below is a summary of my qualifications and some of my teachers.

My Lineage

My first guru is my mother; my child is my next greatest teacher! Plant medicine has taught me trust and gratitude.

I studied integrative and therapeutic yoga with Molly Masaoka E-RYT 500 Owner of Yoga Centered in Hilo, Hawaii and Liz Heffernan E-RYT 500, C-IAYT Yoga Therapist at Soma Yoga Institute in Arcata, California.

My most recent studies of hatha yoga, meditation, yoga nidra, and tantra were with Yogi Charu, disciple of Saraswati Lineage. Yogi Charu was inducted into this lineage by Anandakapila Saraswati, a celebrated author on tantra and kriya yoga, who now lives in seclusion in Australia. Yogi Charu is also an inducted brahmin in the Bhakti tradition in the Brahma Madhva Gaudiya Sampradaya lineage.

Other Styles and Names that Hold Significance to Me

My most influential mentor is Kenneth Nakasone, PT, PhD, ATC, CSCS.
Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers have strongly influenced my style of yin yoga teaching.
